Happy Halloween!

Guess which pumpkin belongs to which kid!

In order from left to right, they were designed by Erin, Brian, & Kelly.

We had a little bit of a slow Halloween. The number of kids out trick-or-treating might have been down due to the air quality. We keep a tally of trick-or-treaters each year as a reference for the next year. (Yes, David and I are obsessed list makers!) We were down from 186 kids last year to 151 this year. Our first group arrived at 6:15 and our last group at 9:00.

This was Erin's last official year of trick-or-treating. She dressed in my "Oklahoma" costume from high school and went as Laura Ingalls from "Little House on the Prairie."

Brian dressed as Will from the "Ranger's Apprentice" series of books by John Flanagan. Will is a medieval-period spy in training.
You may have noticed someone missing from the photo gallery. Kelly has been sick all week with a high fever, so she missed out on trick-or-treating. When I finally took her to the doctor on Thursday, she had a fever of 104.2°. The doctor said she has an infection and prescribed antibiotics for her. Already she is feeling better, but she was very upset about missing out on the trick-or-treating. Her brother and sister shared their candy, but Kelly said it just wasn't the same!

The kids look great!!! Too bad for Kelly, but I'm glad to hear that she is feeling better, she will forever remember this Halloween. =(

Chloe was right there with Kelly - no trick or treating. Not because she was sick, but because she was so cranky and tired, didn't eat ONE bite of dinner, got sent to her room and fell asleep. She did get to go "trunk-or-treating" the night before, so it's not like she completely missed out on halloween. I'm glad we're on the same page with our teenagers, too. Briar was informed that this will be her last year for the door-to-door candy grabbing. She wasn't too thrilled about it, but oh well, we all have to grow up sometime! Tell Kelly she can have all of our candy - I'm sick of looking at it!
