After several years of discussion and a couple of weeks searching shelters, we finally added a dog to our family. She is a female
cocker spaniel mix about a year and a half old. We saw her on her first day at the shelter, and after we interacted with her, we put our name first on the waiting list. She was quiet, friendly, and loving, and we thought she would be a good match for our family. We had to wait five days to see if she would be claimed, and the kids were very nervous, but she was still available on that fifth day!
The day we got her, we held a family meeting to choose a name for her. We had a tie between Freckles and Bella, so it was up to the parents to decide. We decided to go with the name we thought of when we first saw her--Freckles!
I had forgotten how much having a dog is like having a toddler in the house, but she is so sweet natured (except when other big dogs are around!) that we are glad she joined our family.

What a cute dog! Unfortunately, we probably won't ever have a dog even though Rachel loves them:)
She is a really cute dog. I bet the kids love having her.
2 down 5 of us left to crack. NExt time we see you, Blake will run in terror from the dog, and Julia will attack him with love and wait for him to lick her face.
