On Saturday we went to downtown San Diego near Balboa Park for the St. Patrick's Day parade. We probably wouldn't normally do this, but Kelly recently joined a dance and cheer group, and we found out that they would be marching in the parade. We really enjoyed the parade. Brian and Erin complained about the cold and wind, but David and I had fun.
Here are some of our favorite sights!
This was Kelly's first cheer experience since joining the group in February. The girls stopped every block or so to do their routine, including some lifts. At the beginning of the parade, Kelly was pretty stiff, but by the end, she was smiling and having a great time.
The color guard and bagpipes started off the parade.
You've got to love the traditional Irish "DeLorean" brigade! MIK--Men in Kilts
This kelly green lowrider actually stood upright on its back wheels at one point--very impressive! (Then it had car trouble and two guys had to work under the hood for a couple of minutes--no big suprise there!)
The Westie Rescue Society had their dogs all in costume, and they were adorable.

St. Patty's Day is my favorite holiday:) Kelly looks so cute.
Were you so happy to see all that green??? How fun that Kelly is doing cheerleading now. She looks like she is having a blast!
Kelly is so cute. Looks like an interesting parade!!
Great pictures of Kelly.
I like the Irish. Especially the dog. I have to say it is not what I expected though...The dog I mean. :)
I liked the pics of Kelly and Erin. I would love to see Erin play some time. My guess is it looks probably like a cross between soccer and mixed martial arts. She is a tiger!
